Position Summary

Our fast-growing Hosting Team, based in India, is looking for bright and motivated problem solvers with a B.Tech (CS/IT), MCA, and MSc. Computer Science background who are interested in a career with a reputable United States-based firm. As a Hosting Engineer, you will provide daily System and Network Administrator operational activities as a part of the Huron Subscription Hosting Services team. The position requires daily review, analysis, decision-making, and reporting on server and network operations as well as client communication and planning for new deployments, updates, upgrades, configuration changes, and technology improvements.

In addition, your day-to-day could include the following: assisting with researching, analyzing, and resolving client-reported issues; continually improving internal hosting processes through the development of new processes, tools, and job aids; and assisting with 24/7 on-call hosting coverage.

You’ll be part of the Huron Higher Education team with opportunities to collaborate, learn, and grow while impacting some of the most prestigious higher education and research institutions.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • CS, EE, or IS degree or equivalent

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a data center, hosting services, or similar position

  • Fluent in written and verbal English with strong communication skills

  • Ability to install, configure, and administer Microsoft software, including Windows Server, and SQL Server

  • Understanding of Domains, Virtualization, Firewalls, Routing, Ports, DNS, SMTP Gateways, and Monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios)

  • Ability to interpret various logs, such as IIS, SMTP, and Event Logs

  • Experience with Scripting, PowerShell, and other tool automation skills is a plus!

  • Ability to work night shift Monday-Friday during initial onboarding and training (3-6 months)

  • Ability to work Wednesday – Sunday Morning shift (5:30 AM IST - 2:30 PM IST)

  • Ability to work two hours of overtime on Saturday and Sunday (2:30PM IST – 4:30PM IST)

Shift and Schedule

This position is specifically for a Wednesday – Sunday Morning shift, working between the hours of 5:30 AM IST - 2:30 PM IST Wednesday – Friday and 5:30 AM IST - 4:30 PM IST Saturday – Sunday. Training and onboarding spans between 3-6 months, during which you will be required to work Monday – Friday from 5:30 PM - 2:30 AM IST.
